Random update for the sake of it...

I went paintballing at the weekend for my sisters birthday, which was pretty awesome, although painful. I still have a few bruises and red marks on me.

I've been looking at getting a "rendering video to a texture" sample working as part of the next tutorial (Well, a sort of side-project from the main tutorial). I decided not to use the DirectShow base classes, and that was a mistake - there's a lot of stuff handled by them which I'm just going to end up duplicating (And probably duplicating wrongly). So I'm looking at using the base code and explaining how to use it in the tutorial, not what it does. I haven't really had time to look at the base classes much, but it looks quite straightforwards, so I'll hopefully have time to look into that at lunch today.

THAT IS ALL.

I love paintball! I remember one field I played on, it had a big castle, it should have been called a fortress for how hard it was to assault. It was a blast holding the castle and evening trying to take it over.

Someone died shortly after the last paintball game I played [headshake]. 7 years on and I've not played since, although more because I've no friends willing to play!

Video-to-texture as a tutorial sounds like a neat idea. Strangely enough seems to be a much less requested topic in the forums these days. Was a period a year or two back where everyone wanted it and no one had a damned clue how to do it [lol]

I can't wait to see your tutorial, are you going to use VMR9 renderless mode?

I have no idea what that means [smile]

(If you want to reply to that comment, please do so in my most recent journal entry - I don't read older ones very often).
