Well, my ass has recovered, after being off work for an entire week. Joy. It cleared up of its own accord with some antibiotics and a wadge of gause stuffed down my bumcrack. Beautiful, I know.

I saw VNV Nation last night, who were EPIC. I've seen them twice before, and I reckon that was their best gig of the three. It did however mean getting the bus back to Edinburgh (the gig was in Glasgow) at half 11, meaning I got home at 1am, then had to get up at 6am for the bus into work this morning.

I also saw that Grendel are supposed to be playing in Glasgow on the 9th December - there were posters up in the venue last night. However, Grendel's website is "under construction", their MySpace only mentions gigs starting on the 10th December, and various ticket websites show another band playing at the venue on the 9th. I assume that it's a recent addition, and the ticket websites haven't been updated yet, but it's something I'll need to keep an eye on.

Oh well, that's all for now - back to work...

ah man.. I saw VNV in London saturday night; best. gig. ever.

Played all my favorite songs, good banter with the crowd (did you have the germans and a couple of polish guys up there as well in the crowd?) and the ending... well.. it was awesome;

For the 2nd encore they played 'Beloved' and then finished with "Perpetual" and at the end everyone in the crowd was clapping along and singing 'let there be, ever lasting light' back at them, the song finished up and we just kept going like that for like 10 or 15mins or so.

Was so damned epic, you could see the guys on the stage were like "wow..."; even went and got a camera to film it.

Honestly, I could have died then happy, anyone will be hard pushed to beat that gig in terms of pure awesomeness.

As for Grendel, I'll be seeing them on Dec. 13th myself, should be a good one.

Considering seeing CombiChrist again in a couple of weeks and maybe SITD the following weekend.. should probably decide that soon in fact.

I think all their shows are the same, because I saw the same show last friday in Eindhoven. 2nd last Beloved, ending with Perpetual and going on with "Let there be, let there aaaalwaaays be, never ending light".

But their performance was pretty good, and a bunch of dudes gave them a pair of clogs, which was pretty cool. Too bad VNV hardly performs in the Netherlands.

Yeah, Beloved and then Perpetual here too. I don't know about the German and polish guys, Ronan was talking about one of the tour crew who constantly gets everyone drunk, I dunno if he was German or Polish.

One of the support bands was err.... Starsomething; which are German.

I'll look into Grendel again at the start of next month. As for Combichrist / [:SITD:], much as I like both of them, I can't really justify travelling to London or Sheffield for them [smile]

Yeah, I never caught the name of them either... but they were quite good in an 'angry shouty german with a flat top' kinda way, certainly amused me anyway [grin]

The correct name would be "Straftanz"
