I finally convinced my artist that we could reveal our concept to the world, so here it is. Toys: Guadians of Innocence -Toys are indeed alive, and it's a good thing they are. Every night, the monsters from the closet come out and try to steal the hopes and dreams of children. The toys come to life nightly, engaging the forces of evil to keep innocence protected for another day.

The game is going to be a Turn Based strategy game. I'm not sure which of the following features are going to get cut in the remainder of the week, but I'm hoping to have multiple units for the Toys and Monsters, "Hope" spawns in the middle of the map, and both sides try to grab them while also engaging the enemy in combat. The toys must carry the hope off the board, while the monsters consume it and become more powerful. I'd love to get blocking terrain, firing arcs, and movement radius's displaying as well. Now that I'm thinking about it, the combat I'm picturing is a simplified version of Master of Orion II's combat. We'll see how it goes.

Day 2 Recap:
Yesterday was a flurry of activity. It took me forever to get any traction on the game logic, but eventually I started making baby steps which slowly but surely increased my momentum. By the end of the day, I had the selection of units, moving, and a simple combat sequence. Today I hope to crank out as much game play as I can. Most of the pieces are there, but some are still missing. I think it's doable, but only time will tell. I have some Wednesday commitments that are going to impact my productivity, but my daughter is infinitely more important to me than this contest. No offense guys. smile.png

Thanks guys. Now, if I can just code a Turn Based Strategy game in a few days, I'll be golden!

So it's a cross between capture the flag and king of the hill. Nice one!
