Does anybody know of any good books for making games in BASIC?

I don''t think they sell books on BASIC as it is really old. I might be mistaken and correct me if I am. Anyway, go study C++.
Bigbadfunkdady I''m realy not following you around
Anyway Are you talking about Visual Basic or
Basic Basic? If its the first one you shouldn''t have
any real trouble finding a book . On the other hand
if your talking about oldskool basic like Basica or
Qbasic your probably going to find it easier to just
start slaming your head into a wall now . I used to
It can be done
and but just not very well. The old stuff realy doesn''t
lend itself to games with low preformance and next
to nill on graphic abilities. Visual basic on the other hand
is used to do many useful things and can most certainly
be used to program directx programs. The SDK has
example programs and instructions on how to use
VB to create DX programs. With that said you might just
be better off nabing the video game starter kit that you
can buy at Best Buy. It might not be the best rout to take
but for 30-40 bucks you get the intro version of Visual C++
the Genesis3D engine to mess around with and even
acouple of e-books on windows and DX programing.
although I would highly sugest getting real life books(and
better books on c programing ). There is also a real
book thats just about game programing in general. Not
actual code but just thoughts on various aspects from
many sources. Mostly basic stuff but interesting if you
need to get a handle on things. Oh and don''t forget
about the SDK .For the price of a good book you can
have everything you need to start in C++ which as
you probably know, will offer you much more suport
in the long run.
Good luck in which ever road you choose to travel
